Beginners Burlesque Online Workshops with Burlesque Rocks!
Welcome to the wonderful world of burlesque. You’ve heard of burlesque and you are ready to dip your toe into this magnificent and inclusive art form. Here at burlesque rocks we love to welcome newcomers to burlesque to class. You may have found a course near you but aren’t quite ready to step into the classroom. Maybe you are just looking for a taste of what burlesque is about. Our monthly specialist workshops are perfect to explore this wonderful world!
If you’re returning to burlesque and want to brush up on a few skills there is something in here for you too!
Each workshop is two hours long and limited to 10 people per workshop. We’ll warm up and go through different techniques needed for the workshop before doing either a short routine or exercise using the techniques we’ve just learned. We’ll end the session with a Q&A so please bring any burning questions you have regarding burlesque.
Walking and Posing – January 14th & June 10th 2023: 11am – 1pm
The very foundation of burlesque. If you are new to dance and walking in heels this is the best workshop to start with. We’ll run through the basic walks and poses you’ll find in burlesque. Concentrating on my 4 favourite styles, Cheesecake, Sensual, comedic & Powerful. We’ll end with a fun exercise which will leave you ready to strut down the street in style!

Beginners Bumps and Grinds – February 11th 2023: 11am – 1pm
The most classic and dramatic burlesque styles. You’ll find bumps and grinds in almost every burlesque routine. Learn how to make the most of your bumps and get right into those grinds. We’ll end this class with a classic burlesque routine for you to take away with you and finesse!

Tease and Tassel – March 18th 2023: 11am – 1pm
The very core of modern burlesque the strip tease, taking your time and tantalising your audience into a frenzy is the burlesque performers goal. This workshop with introduce you to the art of tease and end with the basics of tassel twirling!

Character and Storytelling
I love playing with characters on stage and building a story to tell. These techniques can be applied to classic acts too. Working with a theme and finding a way to make your act stand out from the rest. We’ll play with different techniques of how to add character into your dance and put across your story.
